Items in Baja: Focus on kayaking, cruising, swimming, snorkeling, swimming with the seals, sunshine and getting away from the crowds in the least developed coastline in Baja! Fishing with the locals via panga fast boats available on request at extra charge.

ITEMS NOT INCLUDED

Fishing license fees in Alaska which run from $55 (weekly) depending on the duration of the license and type of fish (King salmon require stamp).
Fishing license and separate panga or deep sea fishing excursions available in Mexico if desired.
Scuba trips can be arranged with local vendors who will come the boat to take you diving in Mexico.
Gratuities, which are customary in yacht charters are not included.

GROUP RATES*

We normally try to charter the boat to groups of four or six guests as a group but fully entertain single cabin charters. We will travel even with only one full stateroom. Our rates for trips are lower or comparable to other boats of equal level in Southeast Alaska. Note that our trips are now 8-10 days depending on month.

*one trip = seven nights/eight days starting at noon on Day 1 and ending at noon on Day 8. Look for our special 10 day cruises for the price of 8 on the schedule and our longer Inside Passage 12-14 day trips.

RESERVATIONS, DEPOSITS & PAYMENTS

To confirm your charter and reserve your dates a deposit of 50% must be received within 14 days of your reservation. The balance of the charter fee is due 60 days prior to your charter. Payments can be made with personal check, wire transfer or money order.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

If a charterer cancels, deposits and final payments are fully refundable only if the dates you have reserved are rebooked with another charter. Partial booking of those dates will result in a prorated refund. If not refunded, you may travel with us the same season on a cruise of similar value or length subject to space and operations. In the unlikely event that we cancel a cruise due to a mechanical breakdown, you will receive a full refund of all monies paid directly to us.

TRIP INSURANCE

Many travel advisors recommend trip insurance. Good trip insurance will cover cancellation due to your illness or that of a family member as well as cancellation due to inclement weather. It will even cover pre-existing medical conditions if purchased at the time you book your trip and you are capable of traveling at that time.

CHANGES OF SCHEDULE AND CREW

If the charterer needs to change a scheduled trip, we will make every effort to accommodate that change, subject to the limitation of other scheduled trips.

Ursa Major Yacht Charters reserves the right to make changes in our schedules for any reason up to 6 months before the charter; or at any time when necessary for the safety of the guests.

In the event of mechanical breakdown, Ursa Major Yacht Charters reserves the right to make a timely substitute to another boat of comparable or superior size and quality. We also reserve the right to change or substitute crew members.

GETTING TO ALASKA

Please note that our trips do not include airfare to and from Alaska. For your trips to Alaska, wherever you are coming from you will usually need to arrive in Seattle and then take a flight on Alaska Airlines to Juneau, Petersburg or Sitka except for some guests coming to Anchorage and linking through from there.
